Chuck is a Consulting Actuary for Problem Solving Enterprises (PSE), which he founded in 1995. Chuck has over 31 years experience in the actuarial profession. His consulting work has been in the areas of product development, marketing software development, web development, internet marketing, direct marketing, financial modeling, valuation, administrative systems, customer service support, marketing/agency support, and policyholder taxation.
Prior to forming PSE, Chuck held various senior management roles at Zurich Life
of America, including Executive Vice President of New Business, Chief Marketing
Officer, and Chief Actuary. In these roles, he undertook major initiatives in
the areas of strategic planning, incentive compensation, re-engineering,
employee training, reinsurance negotiations, agency/sales management,
product/sales compliance and the development of a direct marketing distribution
system. Chuck started his career at Bankers Life and Casualty in Chicago, IL.
Chuck also had a part in the founding of two “dot com” companies including www.MyPoints.com, a premier internet rewards program, where he helped in developing and implementing the initial business plan and in obtaining venture capital funding.
Chuck is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He has been actively involved in professional activities including past chair of the SOA Entrepreneurial Actuaries section
and current council member of the SOA Marketing and Distribution section. Chuck has also participated as a member of various work groups/committees and as a speaker at various industry meetings.
Chuck received a B.S in mathematics from Rockford College, did graduate work in mathematics at Louisiana State University and received an M.S. in mathematics from the University of Illinois.
